Palm Springs, FL — Stand Down, an initiative of Faith Hope Love Charity Inc, proudly announced the completion of a major renovation project at the Stand Down House, an emergency and transitional housing facility dedicated to supporting male veterans as they rebuild their lives after military service.
The renovation—made possible through a special grant award—delivered a full refresh of the home’s living spaces and outdoor areas. Upgrades include new interior paint, modern furniture, blinds with drapes, renovated bathrooms, enhanced landscaping, and new patio furnishings designed to create a peaceful, dignified environment for veterans in transition.
Over Memorial Day weekend, the Stand Down Board of Directors gathered at the Stand Down House for an official unveiling of the improvements. Board members toured the updated apartments, met with resident veterans, and shared a morning of fellowship over a catered breakfast.
“These renovations are more than cosmetic—they represent our ongoing commitment to restoring stability, dignity, and hope for the veterans we serve,” said Josh Maddock, Executive Director. “Every improvement reflects our belief that those who served our nation deserve a safe, comfortable place to heal and rebuild.”
For more than three decades, Stand Down has provided temporary and transitional housing, case management, life‑skills training, and supportive services to veterans and their families facing homelessness, mental illness, addiction, traumatic brain injuries, PTSD, physical limitations, or other hardships. While the organization serves both male and female veterans and their families through a range of emergency and transitional housing programs, the Stand Down House specifically provides structured transitional housing for male veterans. The newly completed upgrades strengthen the organization’s mission to offer a stable foundation for veterans working toward independence.
Stand Down, an initiative of Faith Hope Love Charity Inc, expressed deep gratitude to the grant funders, community partners, and volunteers who made the renovation possible.
“Investing in our veterans is investing in our community,” said Bruce Ciarlariello, Board President for Stand Down. “This project demonstrates what can happen when compassion, resources, and purpose come together.”
The Stand Down House continues to welcome community support through donations, partnerships, and volunteer engagement.
