Meet Sarah Davis, Deputy Director at Stand Down — a leader whose compassion, expertise, and dedication have shaped our veteran‑focused mission for nearly a decade.
Sarah brings 9 years of nonprofit experience and a B.A. in Psychology from UNC Wilmington, along with a strong background in substance abuse and mental health treatment. Before joining Stand Down, she worked in both adult recovery programs and a children’s inpatient psychiatric facility, experience that now informs her trauma‑aware, veteran‑centered approach.
Sarah joined FHLC in 2017 as a Case Manager and quickly rose through the ranks — Lead Case Manager, Program Manager, and now Deputy Director. Her years working one‑on‑one with veterans ensure our programs remain grounded in empathy, accountability, and the daily support our veterans need to rebuild their lives.
Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her family, reading, traveling, kayaking, and rescuing animals — and yes, she will always stop to pet the dog. 🐾💙
